Tackle Football League
Grades 5th & 6th
Join over 400 Eau Claire youth in the area’s largest Youth Tackle Football League. The tackle football season runs mid-August – early November, over a 12-14 week period, consisting of practices during the week and games on Saturdays at the UWEC Simpson Fields, with the exception of our Carson Classic which is played on a weeknight at Carson Park. Participants sign up individually and are then placed on teams according to where they attend school. Rosters are limited to 25 players. In the case of an overflow of players or late registrations, players may be placed on their non-school team. This may also include some players traveling to neighboring cities such as Fall Creek, Elk Mound, or Altoona. Our league is designed to help teach the fundamentals and skills, as well as the rules of the game and both teamwork and sportsmanship. We do not keep score in this league, because here at the Eau Claire YMCA we believe that everybody plays; everybody wins! All games are officiated by both new and old officials. They too will do their part to help teach the players the rules of the games, while keeping the game in control.
New this year. Each player will be required to pay a $50 equipment deposit which will be returned at the end of season provided equipment is returned to the YMCA.
Please note that players will not receive equipment unless we have received a current waiver/release and physical form.
