Sports Center Day Camp Counselor
This is a part-time to full-time, seasonal position and will run Mondays-Fridays from June 8 through August 28. Operational hours for camp are 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM, and staff is typically scheduled anywhere from 4-8 hours in that time frame. This position requires strong leadership skills to help in guiding children ages 5-14 and teaching them the benefits of activity and exercise. Children are to be supervised at all times at the Sports Center as well as on field trips to Fairfax Pool on Tuesdays and new field trips each Thursday. Counselors are expected to oversee up to 18 children at once while at the Sports Center and 10-12 children when on field trips.

SACC Day Camp Counselor
This is a flexible, part-time to full-time seasonal position. Counselors are responsible for providing a safe and diverse experience for youth that is focused on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. We are looking for enthusiastic, attentive camp counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that camp has to offer. Counselors will be supervising and maintaining small groups of children ranging from ages 6 to 12. Being a role model and a teacher of good communications skills, listening skills, cooperation, problem-solving, and self-control is imperative to this postiion. Because we work in teams, this person must have a mature attidtude that allows her/him to communicate effectively, probvlem solve, and anticipate the needs of children and fellow co-workers.

Lifeguard Instructor and CPR Instructor (HIRING NOW FOR SUMMER)
Both Lifeguard Instructors and CPR Instructors are needed. Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, in cooperation with other YMCA staff, and consistent with the YMCA mission, the Safety Instructor (LGI or CPRI) is responsible for the instruction, leadership, supervision, control, and safety of all class participants. The Safety Instructor (LGI or CPRI) is responsible for the appearance, presentation, and working order of all materials and equipment used for training. It is the Safety Instructor (LGI or CPRI) responsibility to observe and direct all class participants, and to provide feedback and appropriate correction as instructed or included in the job description.
Safety Instructor (HIRING NOW FOR SUMMER)
The Safety Instructor is a key member of the Aquatics team that is responsible for teaching Lifeguard courses, Lifeguard Review courses, or a variety of First Aid/CPR/AED courses in Lay Person or Professional/Health Care provider, for staff and community members. The Instructor is responsible for the appearance, presentation, and working order of all materials and equipment used for training. Water Exercise Instructor
Teaches YMCA water aerobics class Monday and Wednesday from 8:00-9:00 am. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Keeps management informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members. Ensures pool safety and YMCA policies are adhered to. Performs related duties as required.
Certified Instructor (AEA, ACE, AFAA), water specialty/certification preferred.
Certification in CPR/AED desired.
Necessary knowledge of hydrodynamic principles and water exercise movements.
Familiar with human anatomy- muscle groups, body functions during exercise.
Knowledge of teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
Incorporate creative exercises using different equipment.
Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
The Lifeguard is a key member of the Aquatics team that is responsible for supervising the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies. Each member of our Lifeguard team creates a safe, positive and enjoyable atmosphere, promoting member safety and satisfaction in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures. Swim Instructor (HIRING NOW FOR SUMMER)
Bring your enthusiastic attitude and passion to the Y and be a part of a meaningful team teaching people of all ages the gift of swimming. Lifestyle Fitness Center Staff
The Healthy Living team has immediate openings for Lifestyle Fitness Center Staff. The Lifestyle Fitness Center Staff is responsible for providing customer service to members in the fitness center and follows the YMCA of the USA Health and Fitness guidelines. The incumbent creates a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures.
Provide quality programs & services that meet the needs of the community and members.
Provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with members.
Participate in instructing various programs, which may include New Member Orientations, Exercise Equipment Orientations, ActivTrax Orientations, and Adult Wellness Consultations.
Communicate and enforce policies and guidelines for the equipment area along with keeping this area safe, clean, and functional. Occasionally perform basic maintenance of equipment.
Adhere to all guidelines and expectations as outlined in the YMCA Fitness Center Staff Manual.
Encourage members to participate in health and fitness programs such as personal training, specialty classes, group exercise classes, etc.
Customer Service Team
This team is responsible for working at our Service Desk or Welcome Desk. Duties include selling memberships, signing people up for programs, scanning cards, answering phones and being the first point of contact for YMCA members and guests. Staff will ensure that our members and guests have great customer service and their needs are met.
Hours vary but mainly between 8am – 10pm Sunday - Saturday. Please apply online.

Before & After School Care - SACC Lead Teachers
Assistant Lead (Part Time - 2-6 hours per day)
The Eau Claire YMCA runs a before and after school program at many area elementary schools and at the YMCA. We are looking for leads and assistant leads who have a warm, nurturing and friendly personality. They must be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, relate well with children and fulfill all responsibilities in accordance with the YMCA philosophy. Because we work in teams, this person must have a mature attitude that allows her/him to communicate effectively, problem solve and anticipate the needs of children and fellow co-workers. This program runs on the same time frame as the school district calendar and is considered a temporary, part-time position and offers 2-6 hours per day to better fit your schedule. The candidates must display the following attributes:
Plan and coordinate large and small motor skills activities at your site.
Encourage children’s growth in character development through honesty, caring, respect and responsibility.
Be a role model and teacher of good communication skills, listening skills, cooperation, problem solving and self-control.
Be a “Team Player” through building strong relationships with staff, children, and parents.
Pay starts at $9.00 per hour. Hourly rate may be higher based on experience and longevity. Successful team members will be awarded a year’s YMCA membership at no cost after two weeks of on-site employment. You must be 18 or over to apply.
